Hi there!
I’m Dr. Dave Mulder.
I’m a Professor of Education.
I teach people how to be teachers, which I think is the coolest (and maybe the weirdest) job in the world. I believe in the power of education to change people’s lives for the better, and I’m committed to helping teachers become the best teachers they can be.
I’m also a “purveyor of positivity.”
I tend to be able to see potential in almost every situation, and I am always on the lookout for ways to share a little more joy, delight, and whimsy, both in my classroom and outside of it.
I love to make things.
Sometimes I write stuff. Sometimes I record podcasts and videos. Sometimes I give talks—for kids, for teens, for grown-ups. Sometimes I build kites, or model rockets, or silly geography quizzes on Instagram. Sometimes I take photos and use them to create visual writing prompts. Sometimes I make music on my guitar or ukulele. I believe human beings were created to create, and one of the most joyful ways I can be who I’m created to be is by making things.
